Delicious, Healthy, and Sustainable Recipes from a Nutritionist and Chef!

When you choose organic, plant-based foods, you know you're doing your body a favor. But you're also helping the planet with your choices as well! It's been proven that most unhealthy foods are not only bad for your body, but for the environment too. Eating a sustainable diet has become the more 'trendy' thing to do, and it's a trend we can get behind! Sustainable and organic foods provide us the nutrients we need in a way that respects our ecosystems (without depleting our natural resources).

Here are some ways you can be more mindful about eating more sustainably:

- Eat more plant-based foods

The livestock industry alone generates nearly 15% of all man made greenhouse gas emissions. If you're not ready to fully cut out meat, even just limiting your intake will help.

- Growing your own foods

Growing your own food is the most sustainable way of eating! It's free from the carbon footprint and it's much more delicious when it comes straight from your backyard.

- Avoid wasting foods

Food waste is a big problem and you can make a difference in simple ways.  Freeze anything you can’t eat while it’s fresh, buy loose produce so you can select the exact amount that you need, and plan recipes ahead so you know which groceries you need to get.

- Only buy and eat certified foods

Be mindful of where you're getting your food. Are they certified organic and sustainable? Spend your money on business's that you know are honest and good for the environment!
